Cookies
A cookie is a small file that is sent with the pages of this website, and that is saved by the browser on your computer. We use cookies to make this website function properly and to analyse the use of this website.
How do cookies work?
There are three types of cookies
Functional cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly and for it to remember settings and preferences throughout a visit to the website, or until the next visit. Language settings or completed fields in a form, are examples of information the cookies help remember.
Analytical cookies
These cookies show how often you visit a website. It helps us find out which parts of our website are interesting and which are not, or whether the website functions as is intended and how we can improve the website.
Cookies on websites of third parties
Certain elements on the website contain the cookies added by the websites of third parties. This applies to practical additions, such as a Google map with interactive directions, a ‘like’ button for Facebook, or the option to copy something in a tweet. By means of these cookies the website ‘knows’ if you are logged into Google, Facebook or Twitter.
The cookies we use
Below you will find a list of the cookies used as part of this website.
Google Analytics
We use this statistics service to keep track of how visitors use the website. Google might share this information with third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or if third parties process this information on behalf of Google. We do not allow Google to use the obtained information for other Google services.
The information that Google collects is anonymised as much as possible. The last part of IP addresses of visitors of this website is not saved. Therefore an IP address can only be traced back to a group of 256 persons. We implemented Google Analytics according to the roadmap of the Dutch DPA(in Dutch). The Dutch DPA is of the opinion that with these settings the information is still not fully anonymised and therefore Google Analytics is blocked if you reject cookies.
Cookies of third parties
In several places the website uses web content of other parties. For example, videos or images are embedded, or other sites can be opened through an iframe. There are also URLs that guide you to other websites. The web content of third parties could use cookies and will be blocked if you have rejected cookies.
Social networks: share this page
The social media buttons that can be found below all articles on this website: ‘Share this page’ do not use any cookies. Once you have pressed these buttons, you will be forwarded to the concerning website. These sites might use cookies. For more information we refer you to the privacy statements of these social media.
